Default ? about German Dienstglas

Hi Guys !
A friend of mine has this one .
Can anyone tell me who the maker is .
When You look true the binoculars it has some kind of scala inside from 30 - zero - -30 . Is this some kind of range measuring ?
I`m a badge and medal Collector and need Your help here .

The maker is M HENSOLDT & SOHN AG,WETZLAR. This firm were makers of optical instruments.

Yes, the scale (reticule pattern) could be used to determine the range to an object, or could also be used to send appropriate corrections when directing indirect fire. A very useful feature for both the infantry and artillery.
