Original by maker 86 with the paint removed, probably by a cleanser like Silver Dip.

Hello,

IMO, it looks like someone tried to clean the cross using a 'silver-dip' wash and it damaged the paint finish on the core in the process.
Is the core magnetic? It looks like a Paulmann and Crone cross if my memory serves me correctly.

Regards - Danny

Default too bad

Someone got carried away and made a mess of it.
Unfortunate but Congrats on your cross.
