Hi I have yet to see a picture image on an Italian SS wearing a red SS rune collar tab only Italians that were either transfer from other SS formations were allowed to wear the standard German made rune collar tabs. Most wore the blank red or black tabs. They are just wrong on almost all counts, from the backing, to the wool, etc. I have seen fakes of these types of ugly made runes, I would not want them in my collection. Just search the thread under Italian SS.
