Sorry but in Britain we have knots on our swords we still do they would originally have been wrist straps so you dont loose your sword in battle, Portapee sounds like a French word to me so why would I describe it as such? If I went to a Militaria fair any where in Britain and asked for a WW2 German sword knot they would all understand me, if I asked for a portapee some might shrug and say whats that. You can call it what you want, I will continue calling them sword knots.
