The interior of the is cap. Maker markings are worn off but appear to be similar to the cap posted earlier.

Interior of the bevo weave cap badge visor cap. Note that the previous collector had identified the cap as BGS. They are commonly found being offered on EBAY.DE as BGS cap.

The third type is the metal (aluminum) cap badge mentioned by Klaus. I do not know what relationship this unusual cockade has to do with Zoll but it was on the cap when I received it and since there is no evidence of tampering with the cap I have left it as you see it.

Well the version with the metal badge was the one I knew.

The trousers with "Landesbeschaffungsstelle Ludwigsburg" have to be from Baden-Wuerttemberg. I had a Polizei-Hauptmeister uniform from Ba-Wue once which had the same. The tie is the right one. Rheinland-Pfalz police wore black ones to 1976. But the shirt looks very pale to me. The version I have is much more green. Schupo: Does it have any markings inside? If I find time to, I will post some pictures of my Rheinland-Pfalz police uniform.

regards Simon

Simon,

The nylon shirt is a bit more green than it appears in the photo but it is unmarked except for a small size tag in the back of the neck. It has no pockets or shoulderboard attachments.

I too have a RP Polizei NCO uniform from the same time period that is cut in the same manner as the RP Gendarmerie one. It has the same oval machine sewn patch and construction inside and out. It also has a set of unmarked trousers that are unpiped and made of the same twill material as the tunic. The trousers have the gauzy lightweight nylon pockets and they have a nightstick pocket along the right leg.

SCHUPO,

I would like to see this uniform that you are referring to. More pictures?

Regards,

Gordon

Gordon,

I will try to get a couple of photos. BTW, the baton (Gunniknupel) pocket is on the left leg instead of the right one (my error).

Yes, for shure not police. Its a nice visor with the colours of the NBC defence troops... quite rare colour on a lightgrey cap. One of the few missing in my collection.

Would you be interested in parting with it?

Regards,

Jens

How to not make a fake!

Very bad example of modified West German cap for TR perood. This is on ebay.com now: a 1970 dated BGS cap with a Totenkopf (probably fake) on it. Seller wants $500.00 and has had 2 offers (both rejected)!

Holy crap that's a bad fake! 1950s or early 1960s Polizei cap, probably Rheinland-Pfalz?, with an obviously brand new (faked) bevo Totenkopf badge. Ack!

In a perfect world the reason the two offers were rejected is because people offered him EUR 3,00 for it
