Default M42 Luftwaffe SD with 2 eagle decals?

I'm no expert but I've never seen a decal like this. Is this rare?

War

LW decals are not easy to apply so it often happened that a second decal was put on the first after a failed attempt. Probably they were in a hurry because the steel helmet is also stamped twice.

The eagle's eye looks kinda weird though. Do you have a sharper close up picture of that section?

Good decal, interesting that both the makers number and the decal are doubled...not worth more IMO that a regular lid though.

Makes me feel like I drank a double, looking at the decal and stamp!

Reminds me of a Foreigner song.

I like the lid.

I have had several of these doubled up Luft helmets and they all were on M1942s. It is cool for sure. Doesn't really increase the value though it's a neat thing to see. The Luft decals were tough to apply based on the number of application errors we see. I just think the doubled up ones had an issue with the first and instead of removing they just added another. German quality control must have became more lax later during the war as they would have never let an M1935 out of the factory like that.
