Default gorget on Gottlieb auction

being a non-militaria writer so admittedly clueless as to anything regards originality, saw an SS gorget on the new auction

The one that is the subject of this thread on CG's auction is up to $8230.

Has anyone brought this to Craig's attention... I would be fuming if I was the buyer.

Thanks for pointing that out Pieter.

Was that statement about the chain being a reproduction there in the description the entire time? I dont recall seeing it before and easy to overlook it seeing as it just snuck in at the end of the description there.

Is it still worth 8k+ with a repro chain? I doubt the bidder even has a clue that the chain is a fake.

It's the most expensive thing in the auction right now, and I expect it'll close higher. Good luck to all the bidders! Pieter - do I see you at MAX for the spanking?
