This is what "Manfred" is offering to sell me

I looked up "bgeh123" and see he has no posts and just joined

what he doesn't realize is that I already have this Konvolut in my collection

Pg 7

I bought this from a forum member about 5 yrs ago. "Manfred" must have saved the entire view of the whole Grp. He did add a fake PAB to it though.

This guy use to go by another name which I passed on to the Mod's.

With the large quanity fakes coming out of Europe I'm not going to show the units stamps or the signatures in the WP/PAB doc.

This concerns me but does not surprise me.

I posted an add in the wanted section stating that I was wanting an early S&L GAB.

I was contacted via private message by a member called HH55 who said that he had one for sale and posted pictures to me via my private email address.

We agreed 120 Euro to include postage and I sent it via money order which cost me an additional £10 because he had no paypal.

Guess What....

His name was Manfred and he was a German living in Bulgaria.
He has responded to a couple of emails saying that it was "in the post" but that was a couple of weeks ago and hope is fading fast.

Thankfully I'm lucky enough to be able to lose £100 without it having a devastating effect on my life but it's my first sour note in ten years of collecting which does sadden me.

You never know it may be in the post but I somewhat doubt it now after reading this post.

I must also add that there have been many recent threads about items not being recieved, payments delayed and several acts of pure dishonesty. I find estand a great place to buy and sell, but wonder if buying from a dealer may be the safest way and at least there is some comeback (I think). Don't get me wrong, I know many transactions go perfectly but as with most things in life the few spoil it for the rest.

Just my two cents

Lee

Steve,

A black and white attempt at fraud can you inform any police agency since he has provided his full bank details and the account could be looked at or do you feel it is not worthwhile?

Nice to see the fraudster outed and his details published.

Can you link this to the community forum as more people could benifit from this info as he is not limiting his action to just paper?

I would but I am banned from there for harrasing esteamed dealers well one actually, so Lee, it is no safer where ever you buy on line if you look at the transactions that go wrong within the dealers on here and else where.

Best bet is face to face with an address.

Regards

Jock

Just sad. "Manfred" seemed a bit too eager for you to send the money immediately, in the messages! That would have sent red flags for me right away.

While I was reading, I thought it was going to be a horror story for you Steve, so I am glad it wasnt! Nice work outing this scumbag

Default Manfred trying to sell me photos . . .

I happened to post that I am looking for some pictures of the Crimea and a "Manfred from Bulgaria" answered my post and said he had 3 photo albums of pictures and would sell them to me for a cool $200 each. I asked for photos but he would not send but three random poor quality photos that I would not pay a $1 for. I asked for more but he was busy at work. I told him I would not buy anything without a lot of photos.

I happened to see this thread because of his email that he used to send to me emails is in the subject line. I was not surprised to see that he was banned and is a fraudster.

Thanks again.
