This is the legendary Junker key. Probably one of the oldest and most well-balanced German Morse Code keys. They started making these in the 1920s, and the design was so good, that they made them into the 1990s. These keys, because of their size were used in fixed installations and ships. Does yours have any military markings on it?

The WW2 version was used with all Lo40K39 transmitters and DR78 tyransceivers here in Norway.
I never saw them used with anything else.

I don't have a better picture, but this is definately a Kriegsmarine example which does have a type plate on it:

Photobucket

It also has an addtional plate on it, I think with a station code on it. Note the typical grey colour, the rubber cable with thick rubber connection sleeve and the grey three pronged plug of a real Kriegsmarine example.

This shows a stamp under one of my Junkers. The other one has no stamp.

Mine has a "UT" tag on it as well, but not the painting on the housing. Can't confirm what it means though...

Interestingly this morse key was manufactured by "bbw": Elektroacustik A.G. in Kiel under licence from Junker. Mine has the same maker code but is 1944 dated.
