Default What nationality is this officer?

Can you please tell me, what nationality is this WW1 officer? The cockade is something like a star with laurel wreath and a crown above. Same on the collar, just without a crown.

Could be Greek? They used a crown over a cockade. In this case the star and wreath could be some special unit?

He must be from the Central powers. He is pictured together with several Bulgarian officers and one Austrian. Also, he has a Bulgarian Bravery order IV class, I removed it from the image, thinking it may mislead someone. So, could he be German, Austrian, or...? For sure not from the opposite forces, not a POW to the Central powers.

The dude has a mongrel look about him. Are you sure its not a picture of Chuck Roelens in his youth? circa: 1900.

Hello
Your soldier is Spanish, about 1915 - 1920. He is a junior officer of the General Staff Corps. The uniform would be olive khaki, the sash is sky blue.

Info courtesy of a colleague
