Default Helmeted trooper on a Tiger

I was watching a German documentary on the Tiger tank and came upon a few seconds of a helmeted trooper catching a ride on a Tiger. It appears to be an decalled M35 or M40. At first I thought it was Polizei but it's probably Army.

It's at the 26 minute mark in this video:

As far as I rember this fotage was made in North Africa during last days of Afrikakorps in Tunisia and guys were sitting on Panzer III or IV not on Tiger tank .
Army decal is very well visible and it seems to M35 helmet cause in it's origianl early factory paint as it shines like hell ( later helmets had been painted with matt paint at factory level ).

Unfortunately far too many "documentaries" use whatever period film they can find, either because there is no appropriate film available or because they don't think viewers will know. And in some cases, even the film maker doesn't know the difference! As a result, we often see film of German troops originally shot in Poland in 1939 or France in 1940 in documentaries about Normandy or Italy or even Russia.

Agreed, this happens a lot that I've seen.

Not a documentary, but I was watching an episode of "Sons of Guns" where they were talking about the P38 pistol. They showed a clip of footage with a Lanser holding a pistol, which they were kind enough to circle and announce as the P38. Only one problem, it was clearly a Luger. NOt sure who could have screwed up that one, they don't look anything alike.
