I admit, I had a little bit of an advantage since I've bought a few small things from him in the past and he recognized me. That and if you know the Berlin Market, you know that it is full of sharks. So he started higher than he wanted so that when someone made an offer it was his asking price (which was $160, since he knew I was coming back).
When I went back around noon today, he told me about the other folks that were interested. Apparently he had someone who was very interested and was going to buy it, but someone else walked up and pointed out all the same things I had issues with. This scared the buyer away and the two people walked off. 5 minuets later the guy who ruined the deal came back and wanted to buy it. That really pissed him off, and didn't help other interested parties like you Kurt.
Anyway we made a deal and I did end up getting it. I had a lot of fun talking to the guy, telling him what I learned here, pointing out the good things and the bad things. Spent about a half hour taking to him. I try to treat people with respect and be honest with the prices and information I cite, and that really made an impression on the guy I guess. He offered it to me lower than $150 just to spite the jerks he had earlier!
I know I could probably get a better deal online, but I like to have something like this in hand when I buy it (so online buys are rough for me). Most importantly, I like it! I just have to look for some collar discs now!

WW1 29th ID Uniform
I think the uniform is great, I've been looking for a good 29th Division Set like it for a while. If you ever want to trade for something or sell it LMK.
Regards,
John

Anytime John. I've come to really like it, but if I ever decide to get rid of it I'll keep you in mind.
I'm just looking for some discs to finish it off. Speaking of which, what infantry regiments were in the 29th during WWI? Most of the resources I found only show the WWII configuration. 115th is the only one I have verified.

Got this from a quick google search. It came from an article on the use of chemicals against the 29th in WW1. Hope it helps.
Dale
The 29th Division, commanded by Maj. Gen. Charles G. Morton, called itself the Blue and Gray division because its 113th and 114th Infantry, 57th Brigade, under Brig. Gen. LeRoy S. Upton, were composed of New Jersey and Delaware National Guardsmen, while its 115th and 116th Infantry, 58th Brigade, commanded by Col. Vernon A. Caldwell (relieved on 12 Oct by Col. John McA. Palmer), came from Maryland and Virginia guard units. These four states, representing the North and South, also supplied the men for its 54th FA Brigade (which did not see combat), as well as the signal, engineer, and medical components of the division.

Ah ha! Thank you! The WWII and modern configuration was all jumbled up, convenient that they are in order for this period.
Thanks for doing the extra google digging, obviously I didn't get too deep when I looked.
