I like em salty, and I see the collar tabs as worn and not mint at all but....
IMO they have been resewn as the sloppy sewing shows on the underside of the collar, No tailor would side step his pride and allow as fine peice as this out the door with the tabs sewn like this! but..... these may have been hand sewn on by the owner when promoted? so its possible they are wartime sewn?
I added a shot of the assembly line tab sewing on my lowly issued Flak NCO FB for comparisons sake.
I really like this tunic overall!

There are two sets of award loops on the right breast pocket as already pointed out in the above post. I am also interested to know what badge would of been there. A foreign one for sure...

I like the tunic and think it certainly has character but would like to know what badge would go there where those loops are.

Good luck with the sale.

I found the email from the gentleman who sold this to me many years ago. He explained the three loops where the EK1 hangs. He explained that this person earned first the pilot badge. After the EK1 was earned he moved the pilot down below the EK1 and added a shorter loop to accomodate the EK1.

To answer, but stated above, the two sets of loops are for the Austrian Pilot badge.

Here's a closeup of an EK1 in the loops showing that what was told to me years ago fits as described. Also, when you think about it, this tunic served the officer through a timeline that resulted in some honest wear.

Thank you Brian,

I saw your previous post where you explained it was for the Austrian Pilot Badge but was a little confused. After reading this thread again along with your additional post and now fully understand.

Thank you for answering the same question twice.

No problem. Yes the two rows of loops for the Austrian Pilot. The three hoops for the Pilot Badge firstly and the EK1 after won.

I'm guessing promotion from one gull to two gulls after it left the tailor shop.
