Hello Arran:
IMO, based on material, design, and bogus markings.

Please spare us any more questions about this cr*p. I mean there must be dozens of these on past threads all asking the same question. Mr. Moderator, can you post a sticky on this forum titled "These flags are crap. Don't buy them." ? Post a nice picture like above along with an add from WWII Ltd. from the 1970s when they cost $15.

These bogus flags are still available for sale at auction sites like gunbroker, etc.

Distributed from http://famousflags.com/search.aspx?find=german+police

This bogus flag appears to be based on an enlarged command flag, so it didn't exist...bogus.

Sure do like that period police standard bearer photo...oh to have hold and or view the standard, the staff, bandoleer, holder and gorget together!

when I remember well these bogus police flags came first from Belgium, so they may have been manufactured in Europe. But this is already 6-8 years ago!

Great police photograph with gorget, flag, bandoleer etc.

Mark, I have heard of only one original police flag in the past 40 years, a Polizei Stander, and it is pictured in my 2003 Bender magazine article "Flags and Banners of the German Police, 1936-1945". As for the over sized vehicle command flag of the Chef der ORPO, here is a page taken from a 1994 reprint of the 1978 WWII Ltd. catalog. I bought an example about 1975 or so. The quality of the reprint is not that good, but it is the flag at the top.

Mark and OFW, in answer to your inquire about police flags I was referring to those Standortfahnen and Stander that were consecrated and presented to specific police units during the 1937 RPT, not the NSDAP party flags created by NSDAP party cells in the Prussian police like the one OFW has shown.
