Default Bronze Meybauer Mini IAB

I've never seen one before, but here I am taking pictures of it... a bronze Meybauer mini IAB. The badge part measures 19mm (3/4") long X 14.5mm (9/16) wide. For a mere 25Euro, "all in", I think I did pretty good. --Rgds, Ken

The badge part is made from a copper/brass alloy. Yes, gents, it is the early cut-out, "missing leaf", in miniature...

Nice mini Alex: an L/13 marked Meybauer bronze mini --based on their "die #2 design". No question who made these eh! By the way, can you let me know the length X width on yours? Thanks in advance... --Rgds, Ken

Nice addition Ken. Amazing detail for such a small little pin, and the cutouts are well executed as well. For sure a Meybauer product IMO.

That's awesome. Great to know they made these in a consistent size and as Tom mentioned, the detail on these (made 70+ years ago) is amazing! Thanks for the great feedback guys. --Rgds, Ken

I apolgize if your piece is made from tombac too Alex, but the gray areas appear to be zinc underneath. However, that could be just the photos. Regardless, your piece is based on a latter design (by Meybauer) that came out after the cut-out I began the thread with. Both 100% good to the bone or brone! What's really interesting too, is that both are quite different, but consistent in size. Not common among miniatures of the ISA!

Hi,

While I know that a price on something in the e-stand is what the seller wants to ask, I am wondering what the reasoning was on establishing the $500 price for this piece and why he thinks it is so rare.

Comparitively speaking, the price is what I would expect to pay for a RK or DKiG stickpin.

As a collector who has quite a few stickpins I would say that Alex's pin would be worth more due to the MM. That being said, I would not price it anywhere near $500. Am I missing something? Or is this overhype?

AS I stated you can price it as you wish but you really did not answer my question, what makes this so rare to justify a price of $500. Is it just a completely arbitrary price that you assigned or are you basing it on something else? At $500 it would be one of THE most expensive stickpins in any of the TR era stickpins. Only a few of the very rare Gau stickpins would be priced higher, and they typically set on dealer's sites for years.
