Default 6X30 binos german

Hello,
these binoculars have been in my family since ww2 they were brought back ny mu great uncle, i have been told that they are not of german manufacture but were manufactured in a occupied country, the case did not originally come with the binos they were bought no to long ago, so my queston is are these german made or made in a occupied country?
does the case go with the binoculars or should it use a bakiliate case? also does the 4 on the case mean 1944 production? who manufactuer produced the case?

Thanks,

McCallion

Binocular is of Czechoslovakia origin. Case is made by Emil Busch from Rathenow; war time code cxn. It is special box for bakelite binocular produced by this maker. 4 should stand for 1944. Both things are interesting. Case is more valuable on the market.

Default binos

those bino's are czech army issue.. lion/36 is the date of acceptance. As with all czech stuff it was used by the Germans. The lense cover could have been added later. How they found thier way into a late war cxn 4 case is anyones guess.. I was just able to find a case that had a set of ww1 6x ziess in it..
Also I think the maker Goerz is German and these were made under lisence by the czech's.. I hope this helps answer so of you're questions..

Also the case that is correct for the bino's would be a tan/brown leather case with the same czech markings on it. I recently saw a complete set on ebay..

Default KP Goerz, Bratislava.

Hi Mauser 99 and Mccallion,
the cxn binocular case sells on Ebay for about $300 .Good deal!!
Just a few comments on the binoculars: when the binoculars were made in about 1936 by K P Goerz, Bratislava - Bratislava was part of Czechoslovakia . When Czechoslovakia was invaded by Germany in 1938 Bratislava became part of an independent state - Slovakia.
Its hard to find the history here on the connection between Berlin ,Wien and Bratislava Goerz companies . At this point it appears to me that the well known pre WW1 C P Goerz ,Berlin company permanemtly ceased production of military optics after World war1 . However , a branch of the C P Goerz ,Berlin company seems to have survived in Vienna until 1945 where it manufactured German pattern optics under the name of Optische Anstalt C P Goerz GmbH,Wien (bpd). K P Goerz , Bratislava does not seem to have made any German pattern optics for the German war machine?
An interesting military 6x30 variant especially with the Czech army acceptance marks
