thanks for the kind comments, Richard. It's an old thread, and I have accumulated a few more hats since I originally posted it:

BzP, I am glad I am not alone in the appreciation of DRB visors.

Fantastic collection--you should post close-ups of them in this thread.

Well, I was too slow on this one but it was a nice, mint Lubstein issue piece. It seems that the bottom ring of red piping was abandoned by the DRB sometime during the war.

I had questions about this before, but this hat answered them---Lubstein did mark his Reichsbahn visors as Kleiderkasse :

& I earlier thought this piece was suspect because of the Kleiderkasse mark on a Bahnschutzpolizei visor. Looks like the BzP came under the aegis of the RB-Kleiderkasse:

(This would be the wartime, third style of visor. I am not clear if the switch to field-gray wool bodies was for the entire BzP, or just those outside the Reich proper).

Wow--this little beauty came and went on Shea's site--white-top Reichsbahn visors are as rare as SS white-tops:

PS--I obtained copies of the actual Reichsbahn regulations, and blue piping is correct for white-tops (instead of the red found on blue-tops).

Still a great informative, very colorful thread. I would not mind having a few generals rank caps with all bullion insignia, they are really attractive.

These summer visors are far and few between. Very nice
