When the SS took over the Bohemia Factory, the entwined runes formed part of their new Bohemia mark.

(The entwined runes mean that the item has met the artistic standards set by the SS.....................they have nothing to do with Allach.

All Allach items had the runes......................but not all items with the runes were Allach.)

Thanks, Robin - Why do some Bohemia pieces have this "Rune" logo, while the piece I have has a rampant lion inside the logo, and says "SS Reich" at the bottom? Why the 2 different logos?

Not 100%, but I'd guess it has something to do with the timeperiod of manufacture - the company probably changed it's logo throughout its production life - sort of the way our American products change their logos to stay current. Robin will tell you the definitive answer, though.

Default Bowl

Thanks for posting my bowl. It is approximately 7" in diameter. Your piece is not only rare, but IMO VERY desirable. We all know the beauty of all things Allach, but your item has it's own simple utilitarian beauty. AND a rare SS logo!! This is you:

The lion logo was used before the SS took over the factory.

Thanks, I'm happy to find this rare, but I'm not collecting German militaria at all, I will keep this piece, because of it's connection with my family's story.

Anyway, thanks and regards,
Pawel
