Help with Italian Medal.

I believe this medal is for the Eithiopean campaign. Is it? What were the award criteria? Is it common? What kind of broach did it have? Was it awarded to other axis soldiers such as the Germans? And finally, what is it's approx value?

You're right. I had one years ago with a bronzed sword device that said "Fert" (if I remember correctly) and either a lion or eagle head hilt as a horizontal ribbon device.

They are very common and can be picked up for 10 pounds or less. I think with these they can have the makers name on them or not, it dosen't really matter.

It's pre war when the axis didn't exist, there is a thread on here Italian Medals under my name, probably on this page or the next, on there are the details to a site which will be more informative than me, plus a load of other Italian medals.
