Default Oldenburg KVK 1st class m/57!!!

????

What is that?

http://www.militariaweb.com/d/lot.cfm?lotID=4386754

I have never thought Imperial badges without any reference to 3rd reich would have been manufactured as m/57... Is this just a total fake or what?

Anybody???

I still need EK1's L/14 Screwback and Pinback.

there are 57er produced awards from ww1 around!
perhpas the hessen krieger ehrenzeichen - some forum members have one (search the forum and you will find one).
and also some other awards are produced: from the hausorden von hohenzollern krnighscross with swords to the frontfighters cross etc.
and all of them look in a kind of "shiny new" - but the oldenburg cross looks very odd!
could we see the reverse?

I have not seen the actual wording of the 1957 statutes, but my understanding was that they only applied to 3rd Reich awards. There may have been a clause that allowed for the wearing of Imperial period awards, but as they did not have swastikas there would have been no design change, and no particular need to manufacture new ones. In other words, a "1957 version" of an Imperial award is nothing more or less than a modern copy.
