Default Stripped Or Not?

I sent an email about this cross at Emedals.

I was sure it was magnetic and I received an affirmative reply.

I then asked if it was possible that this medal was originally a 40yr award that was stripped of the devices.

I never got an answer.

What do you think?

I think that it was.

Yes crosses are the same but the holes in the ribbon tell me that something was removed.

The holes in the ribbon suggest there was once an eagle device and oaks device on here...but no way of knowing if this is the original ribbon for this cross though I would say it is highly likely.

Kind regards
Pierce

give it the once over with a black-light it might pick up a residual out-line of what was on it.

Failing that you could try taking a image with low light then inverse the colours or show it as a negative.
