PZ Organization?

Hello members.

The first time I posted on this forum I believe. I hope anyone doesn't mind providing some assistance please?

I have been researching myself but with confusing results. How is the breakdown of this unit grouping interpretation?

2./Pz.Abw. 33 II

- What level organization does the "2" represent (Regiment)?
- Did "Abw" convert to Abt?
- Is Abw a Tank Destroyer element?
- What level organization is the "33" (Bn?) and "II" represent?

I'm trying to find out for more unit lineage/campaigns what Division this organization was OPCON to. I have an article of clothing resigning from the properties of this unit designator.

The 2 represents the Kompanie.
The Panzerabwehr was the anti-tank unit so would be Panzerabwehr Abteilung, with Abteilung roughly translating as a detachment/battalion.
The 33 refers to its organisational number so it would be Panzerabwehr Abteilung 33 of 33 Infanterie Division.
It was upgraded to a Panzerjäger Abteilung and transferred to 15 Panzer Division in 1941...

Thanks for the very expedient reply. I was confused as a Bastard. The coding was the enigma for me to pursue further lineage. I really like that this organization was involved in Afrika, a suprise bounus for me.
