Default Leather optics case

Greetings All,

I'm a Heer cloth collector that picked up an optics case today that I have no idea from what country it comes from. Help is greatly appreciated. I found it on a surplus site here: http://www.surplusshed.com/pages/item/b1181.html It is the same thing that I picked up except my case has an additional piece of leather on the case. Here are a few photos too! The only markings that I can find are B.A.T.& S. CO.

Fred

Greetings Stew,

Thanks for the info. Iassume that this case was used by a horse mounted unit with the addition of the leather piece on the top back. I did a quick search through the internet ut only saw a couple of cases in the background of photos. Thanks again!!

Fred

Default Battery Commanders telescope

Hi Fred,
I guess it must have been designed to attach to a saddle in the 1917-19 era
