From David's Sale!!!
A big thank you to David for these nice pieces!!!!
Oaks, Oaks & Swords, and two halbetui cases!!!
They are'nt sets, as the OL's and OLS's are later than the cases, but i think they still look nice together.... medals 478.jpg

The earliest full halbetui is on the left!

A couple of views of the earlier case, looks to be quite an early one, early 60's David thought, i agree with that! really nice look to it, with only the silk hinge.... medals 485.jpg

The later case, still no push button, but with metal hinge. Slightly taller by a couple of MM's, with a more glossy finish to it!
David thought late 60's/early 70's!! medals 483.jpg

So, once again, thanks to David, I'm sure I'm not the only one to have benefitted from his decision to sell most of his collection!
I think i speak for us all when i say, I hope you will still give us your thoughts and opinions on any pieces we show, we dont want to lose you from the 57 section David!!!

Absolutely my sentiments exactly! You're part of us David!
I see why you were excited about the cases Nigel. You've summed up well the El and EL/S.
Can you carefully remove the inlets to see if they reveal anything about the period of manufacture?
