this badge for "Trasporto aereo" (air transport), as you probably know, was given to pilots that completed a number of transport mission, either to italian east africa, north africa, egean sea or albanian front, and was instituted in 1942 in 3 grades, gold silver and bronze.
Yours looks like a bronze grade and for what I know is a quite common badge.
Regarding the pin, that is a very distinguishing feature of italian badges, it is the so-called "bayonet type" pin... surely is very secure though probably too expensive for mass production (in fact other pin fastening systems were used as well, more similar to the german ones).
