Default The Cao - Dai debate .

I have found this "branch" of service to very interesting...however very limited in scope and research. I have only been able to find limited information concerning the history and insignia of this organization. If anyone has more information......please feel free to post the history, insignia or uniforms.

Cheers,
Howard

Pretty awesome beret. I know that I've tried to find Cao Dai pistols but haven't had luck getting anyone who has one to part with it.

Cao-Đài, Hòa-Hảo and Bình-Xuyên all classified by the South VN Government as rebel organizations. However, some of them had completely defeated under 1st Republic of VN (Ngô-Đình-Diệm President Period), the remaining rebel forces had to joined the RVNAF.
Cao-Đài is a Viet's invented Religious, during the Indochine War they armed themselves to become a small army fighting for their own people.
Here's the link about the Cao-Đài religous

and here's the link to other rebel forces had defeated under Diệm Period:

I have always found the rebel groups of SVN very interesting.

I have a 26 page booklet explaining the Cao Dai religion for foreigners that is from the Tay Ninh Holy See that a GI brought back in 1967. Its a pretty interesting religion too.

You've done it now Howard. You opened the can of worms called Cao-Dai here. You will see quickly that the insignia on your beret is highly contested as to whether it is Cao Dai or early Infantry.

It is indeed a major's beret. And a wonderful one. This badge appears later than the original design, and is worn by the senior officers.

Many thing have to be posted. I am still working on this badge identification and after nearly two years, the link with the sect is getting close to nano.

One question .
Is it possible to date the beret just by looking at it ?
Is this makers style rare ?
Is the badge rare ?
ok 3 questions but all for the one answer .
