About $100, maybe less. Even the shell looks like repro. Decals for sure..

Can you please give me some explanation as to why you believe the helmet and decall is wrong. The helmethas got a number T1238 stamped at the backand Q64 on the side. The helmet compares favourable with a dd policehelmet of mine, marked T1203 at the back and Q66 on the side.

jacquesf,
No offense, I don't think the decal is correct. In my opinion this is a fake that has been around for awhile and is wrong in several ways. The liner looks suspicious.
About the shell, it is likely good but I'm curious if anyone has seen a Q shaped that way. where the arpon cuts to the visor? The T#s are on Qs.

The decal does not exhibit important graphic characteristics of an original "Q" decal. Placement of the runes and the shield shape itself is not right.

Do you have close-up pictures of the decal using natural light and no flash?
So far I like it.

I have compared the decal which is the early version to death, with various pictorial references and it seems to be of exactly the same positioning and dimensions, especially the shape of the shield and runes and the positioning of the runes on the shield. Am I missing something.

Thanx perry, Iwill have to take some tommorow, however i did take the pic at an angle to neutralise the flash. That might have distorted the shpe of the shield.

M40 Ss
The shell is for sure original.
from what I see I do not like the liner and the dust seems not old,but it is difficult to say from this photo.
The decal must be seen with another clear and frontal view, also if it seems not so bad...

Looks a lot like the one I've held a couple of months ago , also a Q with almost the same decal. (and also an M40).
Here is a pic.
and here is the thread.
