As far as I understand it was made with similar tool so I don't think it's because of "bouncing". The base metal is quite viscous for that imo... Maybe the faint strike was the first one?...

I know it's not a new question... But what was the reason for double (or even tripple) strike of maker's mark? The first strike is very faint and shifted, and can be found on almost all Luft badges...

I would say it's a good buy. In such condition but with untouched rivets the price can easily be 700+ EUR.

What makes you think it was cleaned? In hands the patina on the wreath looks rather believable and it's the same on open and on hidden areas...

Two birds landed this week. Quite uncommon variant of IMME with true IMME wreath. And one of the best J. Deutschbein Euskirchen I've ever seen.
