The main reason C.P Goerz failed is the owner Carl died in 1926. in 1928 zeiss took over and discontinued many of the Goerz line except for the Camera's that the previous poster mentioned....

Hello,
many rail rifle scope are pre war. the serial makes this a Post WWII scope. probably 1948 is when roughly the factory started up again producing scopes.

yes collectable but not for the sniper crowd. this is not a 300 scope with the lens damage way over priced. parts are almost impossible to find. with damage maybe 75.00 max

Yeah i agree, almost all the rifles are suspect in the book and doubt 1 is even a real sniper but the pics are fantastic and well worth the price of the book.

serial looks like 2554 f (F) block for the most part there are MORE BCD/AR 42's then AR42 so for this year its easier to get a BCD/AR42 and a AR42 is quite scarce.
