Absolutely Robert, those small stitches on the cockade are one indicator. It also helps that I have an untouched early em's Rifle Regiment by the same maker sitting in my study. My favourite cap in...

As for maker, I think it's a Robert Lubstein and an early example (late 1940/very early 1941).

I recall seeing these in the early 2000's on eBay. There are much more convincing fakes around but a fake is a fake is a fake..

I too like the way you have displayed the EK's and other medals making them very easy to appreciate. Good to see a display that isn't overly crowded.

P.S. Erwin, nice items posted by Paul on your behalf in the other threads. I especially like the traditions badge as there is plenty of evidence of their use on tropical caps in North Africa.

Hello,

Not sure who the usual crew are these days.
An interesting cap. It may just be me but I'm thinking that the cap may have been an em's upgraded to officer with the wire around the crown...

Nice items Olpan and Tim.
I'm pretty much the same as Olpan, prefer items dated pre'42 in line with my strong interest in the early battles and what would have been worn/used then. I also do like...

It's the one Clemens Wagner tropical M40 cap that I don't have a problem with. It is difficult to judge it by comparing to other caps because, as far as we know, it is one of a kind remaining.
