Period or post war ?

I have a buckle end of a chin strap that has a plated buckle . Is this a war time example or post war ?

Salty M17 Camo

Not the "Belle of the Ball" as per the camo or overall condition but at least it is original with an intact liner . I just thought other interested folks would enjoy seeing it . Opinions welcome .

Value

Camos are a lot like paintings or art , some are more appealing than others . This one appears to be original but a bit dull as per the camo and scheme . I would agree at the $1000 guesstimate .

May I suggest collecting paper clips instead . Burt from Sesame Street seems to like them and is confident in their originality .

If it wasn't for the small "artist" signature mark on the inside shell it would have had me fooled as well .
