Imports

Yes it does if one collects originality. To some degree, a common variation like an S/42 would be construed as a shooter if import marked. Collectors of this stuff never have trouble selling items in...

Lights

Home Depot has elongated LED lights that fasten with adhesive backing. Or the magnets stick to ferrous metal if you wish. Great for hurricanes when the power goes out. They have an internal...

Shoulder Holster

It appears to be a holster that would fit either a Browning FN1922 model...or a Walther PP, based on its long snout and the length of the mag well. Also the material and construction appear to be...

Shoulder holster

Probably Walther PP or Sauer 38H....modified commercial belt holster into a shoulder rig.....by the German military or U.S. occupation force? A pack of cigarettes could get you one of these. Many...

Luger

Definitely refinished, evident from the better photos. Matching mag or not, it's a shooter. Key in 1938 or 1939 Luger on GunBroker. You will see a couple of Lugers with original finish in almost mint...

Holster opinion

Typical wartime construction for air crew, etc....however, during the occupation by U.S. troops, holsters were custom made for a pack of Camels.....most are not marked in any way.....I have about 7...

Holster opinion

The second set of photos looks good to me....crossed rifles....Akah....Albrecht und Kind......if you can trade for that one....go for it....it appears to be a PP holster; not a PPK.

Holster opinion

Interesting observations, but back to my original assessment.....Notice the "wear" and scuffs underneath the shiny leather. This would indicate previous combat use. A reproduction would not...

Holster opinion

It appears to be an original 1934 holster for a Mauser "K" date. My reasoning is this: If you look at the top flap, you can see the stitch holes for the cover for the cleaning rod (which the cover is...

Luger

No mystery here with 2 scenarios: The magazine with an Eagle/F was for a Mauser Banner police issued in 1939 (the only year for E/F). The mag was definitely a blank bottom when new; as a replacement...

Ppk

...check with Legacy Collectibles....they have many original brown PPK grips.....not cheap, but available. If you replace grips, be careful not to add too much tension to the grip screw. This most...

I concur with the above price estimates......You could consider the holster sold, if you get it and would want to part with it.....thumbsup

Grips

They appear original. A lot of the period PPK grips will have stress cracks, especially around the grip screw and the top. They were brittle, and mishandling would cause chips. Also, the tension on...

Surface Rust

If you can find a ball of STAINLESS steel wool, use that. It does not affect the blueing like normal steel wool. You don't even need a lubricant. It's amazing stuff. Regular steel works, but...

Restore or Not?

Everybody wants a 1967 Mustang fastback...restored to original showroom.....same principle with a gun in this condition. It's not going to hurt the value with its present condition. It will be very...

Lube

All you can do basically is keep it well oiled. Don't try to "bubba" it by applying cold blue. Some would prefer a professional restoration, but that would hurt the value IMO. Restored guns will not...

Cz-27

Take a Beretta, a Walther PP, and a CZ out to the range....you would be amazed at the accuracy of the CZ compared to the rest. I did a field test on beer cans in Utah, and the CZ was comfort,...
