From what I've read, it appears the triangle grease mark came in late 1943.

You don't mention the colour, but from the serials I have, I'm guessing they are tan.

The earliest # I have that is...

According to my notes, these all sit in the tan range which suggests the colour is correct. Ignore any reference to DAK of course...

Nice! I just cant see the CZJ mark being legit though.. Why would Zeiss bother with metalwork / battery boxes when there are a bunch of specialist makers out there already ?

Here is the back & side view. Although it looks big in the pic, the difference in height between the "standard" black one & the brown is about 7mm.

They are constructed slightly differently, with differing numbers of rivets etc, but have the same closing strap which appear to be marked with the same logo.

The blc case came with a blc gasmask...
