The devices certainly did exist for the 4 & 8 year although they were only worn unofficially. In fact, a statute was eventually passed which totally proscribed the wearing of any such devices.

The SS devices look like they have been cast from something resembling an original, but whoever made them mustn't have had the wherewithal to include the mounting hardware...thus the stitching....

It doesn't look anything like any Original SS 4 year that I have ever seen ie. it is definitely not an original Type I or Type II, nor is it the same as the (possible) Schickle version that turned up...
