The dagger is original(at least all the parts are) but the scabbard looks repainted. Also it looks like the scabbard is from an early period dagger.

The roundel looks replaced. There is too much space between the roundel and the wood and it looks like some filling there to fill that space. The whole dagger does not create a good...

That I don't know Russ. My father repainted HJ knife scabbard back in the 60s. I think 66-67-68 and the knife has been in a shed ever since - no spidering. It also depends on the paint type.
