2 things ,1st does the shield attract a magnet (not the pins or the backing)? 2nd the packet is for a war merit cross 2nd class with swords! if you paid a dealer extra for an original narvik shield...

All black wound badges are hollow back, solid...

All black wound badges are hollow back, solid back ones are Silver or gold. This one being a later war zinc variant has absorbed the silver finish (or is that a fleck of gold I see ?) cheers,Paul

There seem to be a lot of these new star fakes about, I've seen some being sold for more than the price of a genuine one! For the record none of these stars were issued with this fake antique laquer...
