His last unit appears to have been Aufklärungs...

His last unit appears to have been Aufklärungs Abteilung 55, 1 Kosaken Division.....at least from November 1944 until April 1945.

I think 8./Marsch.Rgt.1 u.Brig.1 v.Schultz is a PoW unit.

Incidentally the Ärmelband Afrika wasn't introduced until 15.1.1943, entitlement was 6 months but this was waived if wounded.

Earliest I recall seeing in Soldbuch I think was March 1943.

An order went out in Africa to remover pages 4 and 17 of the Soldbuch. I have many DAK Soldbücher like that.

Also normally when the top of page 1/2 is missing it tended to be to removed the date...

I have a couple somewhere printed in England and one in B.A.O.R. (British Army of the Rhine), however if I remember correctly both were for PoW purposes....
