It certainly has a chance of being wartime. Have you turned it inside out and tried spraying some water onto the liner? It might show up the original markings.

First one is post-war Aussie, the parachute regiment title looks like a good wartime example to me and the parachute regiment cap badge is a fake.

British WW2 service records are not currently in the public domain. To get a copy of his service records you have to contact the Army Personnel Centre in Glasgow and either be NOK, have the NOK's...
