The LW H. Aurich steel buckle

Hello Fellow collectors.

As LW buckles seems to be in demand lately, I continue the series on the LW buckles I started a few weeks ago.
Following are some pictures of the markings one can see on the steel H. AURICH buckles. The "A" marking can be found at several places on the buckle. I personally have 6 different variations.

Aurich buckle

Hello Marc,

I have an Aurich Luft buckle. The tab is marked like the one you showed with the date being '1941' instead of '1940'.

I did not realize that the buckle itself was marked until I compared it to the photos you provided. Mine in marked with Aurich's logo beneath the beak on the reverse - like the one you posted. On mine, the mark is very faint, and it is easy to miss unless you are really looking for it.

Thanks for the info.

Calvin

Aurich marking

Hello Marc, all,
Thanks for the interesting pics of the Luftwaffe buckles. Any spare green ones for sale?
As for the Aurich markings, I have a well-used blue-black painted steel Luftwaffe buckle with a Hermann Aurich stamp on the tab. Sure enough, when I looked closely on the rather rusty back, there was the horizontal H over the vertical A. After all these years ....
As for the other H.A. 42 mark, I am inclined to believe it is for Heinrich Arld, Nuernberg (RZM M4/62). I have a near-mint Wehrmacht steel buckle with Arld-marked tab and matching H.A. 42 mark by the catch.
Keep up the good work, lads, and more mysteries will be solved.

Kevin,

This is most interesting news concerning the H.A. 42 mark. Could you post pics of the leather tab and markings?

Heinrich Arld

Hello Gene,
The marking on the tab is the usual oval with H. Arld on top, two stars separating it from Nuernberg on the bottom and 1942 stamped inside the oval.
As for pics, I would have to borrow a digi-camera. How does one send pics with a message to the forum anyway?
Here is another mystery -- I have an all-brass buckle, German-made 1895 pattern, with a Belgian, Dutch or Flemish insignia on the front. The inscription reads EENDRACT MAAKT MAGT [Unity makes (is) might (strength)???]. In the center is the monogram RZA, the R being the largest letter. No maker's mark. An early rightwing organization? A church bingo association? Any clues would be helpful. I would like to send pics but don't know how.

Kevin,

You have to be an Association Member to post pics. Can't help you with the other buckle, but it does sound Flemish.

Hello kevin,

To be able to post freely photos you need to become an "Association Member". It cost $20 a year and this will help to develop or increase the whole web site. Part of the benefits is ability to post yourself any photo you wish.

If posting photos is not part of your main interest or has to be done just from time to time, you still can send directly to my email address (jpredeu@videotron.ca) any photo you want to upload along with a little note saying in which thread you want to place them. I will gladely do the job for you.

Regards

This is a very good point Very well observed!!!! I think we can effectively correct most of the reference books.
HA42 is NOT "AURICH" but well H.ARLT
I enclose the photos of this marking on tab and attached buckle.
