Congratulations!

A very nice looking Reservist 23rd or 24th Reg't Dragoon Enlisted Pattern Helmet!

The set of silver mounted troops enlisted pattern chinscales are very hard to find. Again, congratulations on a very fine looking helmet indeed!

I know where two of them reside with just the spike on them, here in my home state: 1-with a family in my small home town that won't sell it to me that has no chinscales, or kokardes or chinstrap. The other one is regimentally issue marked and lies in a sleepy museum with a fine set of mounted troops chinscales on it.

I'll post some photos of the 24th Dragoon Reg't issue marked example.

Best Regards,

Alan

Here's photos of the 24th Dragoon Reg't enlisted pattern helmet.

They call it a "Russian Royal Helmet", mistakenly.

Best Regards,

Alan

Very cool helmet looks quite sinister with that black plume. Rob

Note the difference , 1st helmet has ventilation slider on rear pipe, the 2nd has the correct riveted on pipe with no ventilator. Just a small defect on an otherwise good helmet.

Yes that is a correct - A Hessian helmet should have that 2nd riveted pipe. The first helmet does not and the cross and spike do not connect well together.

Very nice helmet Alan!

Thanks chaps

Note Alan’s helmet is issue while mine is a reservist private purchase.
