unexpected great finds

Hello,
while visiting and old man from the area to discuss about what happened during the war, I had the chance to get great stuff he had gathered after the fights: 2 holsters, 2 belts, 1 canteen, 1 folding entrenching tool and 3 Y staps. He had much more but used a lot of leather after the war to repair shoes, etc... Those lucky ones are saved!
Enjoy!

Cool stuff. I have spoken to dozens of locals on battlefields, and although I have found some great stuff, I still dont have a single German belt in my collection...
You should ask the guy to tell you more about where he picked this stuff up; if it was from prisonners, or from a field hospital, dead men, etc...

thanks fot the comments!
Yes, I'm very lucky with this stuff, most of them come from the home of his parents (he's living in now) that was used by the Germans as a first aid station. A lot of cut off arms and legs are still buried in the garden and 8 bodies were recovered by the German Government during the 60s.

Hi,
I'm a little bit surprised to see on your P38 holster the ewx code wich means:

Franz u. Karl Voegels, Lederwarenfabrik, Cologne

And the WaA280 wich is for

- WaA280 S/27 Erma und Geipel Erfurt 1935 - 37
- WaA280 27 Erma Erfurt 1938 - 40
- WaA280 ax Erma Erfurt 1940 - 41
- WaA280 S/243 Mauser-Werke Borsigwalde 1938
- WaA280 243 Mauser Borsigwalde 1938
- WaA280 cww Carl Weiss Braunschweig 1942
- WaA280 ce Sauer und Sohn Suhl 1942 - 44

And no information about the DLWP code ... :-(

If any one can help me ..

Thanks in advance.

Nice finds. I'm actually surprised that more stuff doesn't surface from that part of the world. Jim
