I Think that the star is too small - compare with this Pictures.

There were various types of these arm-bands and stars. Personally I would check it under black light. I know one person who collects items related to Holocaust, and has a great collection. I think, he will be able to help to identify this arm-band.

odds to have 1) an original Jewish armband weared by one of the 400,000 Jews killed by bullets, gas, hunger or sickness 2) of the Warsaw ghetto which was erased in full 3) in a city which was destroyed almost completely 4) in a part of Europe that was in the Warsaw Pact zone in which 5) almost no US veteran was able to get one and 6) bring it back to the US... odds are very very small, if not near the absolute zero...

See You

I agree with Vince about rarity, yet this is one of the few holocaust items I've seen that I hesitate to dismiss out of hand. Hopefully someone with some real knowledge will come forth.

I have one very similar to these. It was sold as a reproduction and I purchased (for educational purposes) it because it was very close to originals. The star on mine is variegated blue. In hand it looks good but the base cloth is active under UV. Without provenance, it might well be just a movie prop.

thanks Tom for providing pic of yours. thumbsup

Indeed, yours and the one of helmetman54 seemed to be quite identical, and we can see that the blue star is fatter and different in the original period picture.

See You
