Hi looking for any details on( K Sohnle) this is in gothic script. I have done a comprehensive search and turned up 0 results. I am assuming he served in the kreigsmarine , its scratched on a whistle would be extremely grateful if you could turn up any record of him, fingers crossed . Regards Paul. PS the o has the german umlat .. above it.

Hello Paul,

Are you sure it is K and not G.

Because there is a Gefr. Georg Sohnle 24.03.1922 - died 12.12.1944
and served in the Kriegsmarine on the "Z 35"+ or "Z 36".

Thanks to the crewlist project of this site.

Thank you so much for your help. It is definitely capital K and the rest is Sohnle unless the( n) is an( a) making it Sohale only thought of this now, will send a picture if I can but its an old ipad and quality of picture is poor. on another note I know for a fact on award documents and documents first name letters and dates were typed in wrong, on many documents. thanks again for your help. Paul ps I think I said its in gothic script, but well etched.

As Schrijnen found their was a George Sohnle, so as I said before their could be a typo mistake in the first name which I have come across in Luftwaffe documents, and awards, but who knows,. worth a shot. I must say its well inscribed in gothic style letters. Would have difficulty scratching my own name on it. thanks for you help and input. Paul.

Hello Paul,

Stands the K for his firstname. Wy gothic last name and the begin letter not gothic.

Just a thought.
