Default Carl Zeiss Jena tank binoculars?

I am going to an auction and found an item in the catalog listed as 'Carls Zeiss Jena tank binoculars from the 1940's'. I know the maker but have never seen these before. Does anybody know the name and use of these and are they from WWII?

German navy 10x80. Cut down and modified.

Glem alt om tank binoculars.. det er vrøvl. Vi må se, hvor de ender. Hjelmen er i øvrigt ret ok.

Ah ok. Jeg havde budt på hjelmen hvis jeg kunne se indmad og hagerem, men nåede ikke at få svar i tide, så jeg kørte ikke til Svendborg i dag. Hjelmen gik for 1100 og det var billigt hvis alt var originalt. Kikkerten for 5000 kr

Det lyder som om jeg fik en hjelm, men ikke en kikkert. 5000 bliver til 6250 ~ USD 920.-
Then is has been paid for, in full, IMHO.

I saw it only as a bunch of spareparts.

PS Helmet has orig liner and chin strap, but dried out.

That was a decent price for the helmet

Today, at the auction house, I had a chance to inspect the 10x80 binocular .
Eagle completely erased. Didn´t check the optics. I was only curious about the markings.

Allegedly, the buyer was from USA.

Hi, did you take a photo of the markings.? I'd be interested to see them, it looks like one of the earlier models.

As it was a post sale inspection, I felt it was better not to take photo´s.
It belonged to the buyer, not the auction house. So, alas, no photo´s.

There was 2 different numbers present. One 4 digit, and, to my recollectioon, a 3 digit number as well. The eagle was completely erased, as in completely.

No problem, thanks for letting me know. I have a half of one of these with this pale green colour. There are two numbers on it, a three digit inventory number (?) and a six digit serial number. it seems there was a series finished in this pale color scheme.

The late war EUG made of this type are often in some kind of tan colour.

(Not real tan, the navy tan used for their large bino´s. IIRC, Le breton mentions this in his book on the flak 10x80)

I have it in 3 or 4 different colours, so it can vary a lot.
