Obscure bandsman visor. Unusual in that it has TR manufacture characteristics, and is almost a mirror of the DAF Werkschar Leaders visor:

Interesting with the all-leather and blue wool piping:

Another nazified BRD visor.

This has a band similar to WH Sonderfuhrer auf Kriegsdauer (but the piping would have to match).

Any idea what it was originally?:

stonemint,

With the light green piping and dark green air vents it was probably a polizei cap from Baden-Wurttemburg. Smooth band probably indicates maker as Bamberger from the 70s.

Regards,

Gordon

Being sold as "Reichsbahn Postschutz"(!)
In any event, a postwar visor:

IMO, this is an immediate post-war visor.
Any idea what it was for?:

This last one for Stadtpolizei, probably in Baden-Württemberg? Construction look 1950s or so.

Klaus1989,

Good call. I was trying to remember where I had seen something like this before. This shade of blue was commonly used by city police for piping and cap cords.

Regards,

Gordon

stonemint,

Here are pictures of a cap that I just bought. This could be what the cap you posted pictures of looked like originally. Unfortunately, I will not have a picture of the inside until the hat arrives at my home.

Regards,

Gordon

This is on Ebay right now. I assume it is BRD police?

stonemint,

I would say yes. The six digit telephone number would work for the 50s and later. Probably a city police force with the crest of the city missing from the crown of the hat. Interesting cap but it would drive me crazy trying to identify where it was worn!

Regards,

Gordon

This one appears to be almost US in style, but it dates to 1995:
