Default RKF measures

Hello everyone, I have no experience with flags and I have a question: do the measures on the original stamps have to match the flag exactly or can they vary slightly?

Thanks in advance,
Andrea

How far out are the actual measurements, compared to the actual stamped size?

Flags can stretch or shrink depending on how its been treated. Also depends on what its made of.(wool when washed in hot water shrinks of course)

Post pics so the flag can be discussed.

Hello Andrea:
IMO markings on original flags does
vary with the maker, see WAF "wmtf"
t=427262 examples. In general the
marking sequence is flag type, size,
and the maker name. Ship names &
use locations/dates are usually fake.

Hello thank you for the replies!

I don't have a flag but I would like to find one, I see many examples out there and I want to learn. I'm a bit confused about the real measures of the flags with relatively to what is written on the stamps, sometimes I also mean about 10 cm of difference and I wonder if this is possible..

Hello herr x:
WW2 original RKF's are not rare, even so they are
often faked due to collector demand. Characterists
desired of authentic flags include heavy rope, ////
weave line in header, size and makers as listed in
WAF "wmtf" t=427262. Flags to avoid are those
with date stamps, 60x90 size, use location or ship
name stamps, synthetic blend material, odd colors.
Best wishes in flag search results, and when in doubt
post photos here on the WAF for comment & advise.
