Thanks for the "heads-up" on the availability of this piece, Vince; it would be a fabulous addition to any collection! Unfortunately my poor wallet can't afford it!

Cheers, friend,

Ditto, and yet I did pass on buying a M-1935 &
also a M-1804 eagle in the 1970's for $2k each.

OFW
(below-center) An eagle standard I didn't pass on
buying in the 70's, as it was only $100 in a S.F. junk
store. See the Ulric/Bender DE book on page 502.

I believe he's mistaken about the gilt finish of the eagle--I'm under the impression that all of the 1935 pattern tops featured a gilt eagle and pole socket. There is one illustration in the Org. Buch showing a non-gilt socket for one of the organizations (I can't remember if SS or ?) but IMO it's a mistake.

Quite understandable, OFW...back in the '70s, that was REAL money!

Cheers, my friend,

Indeed, my DE cloth banner & 4 SS battalion flags
cost me $1K each back then. Buys hard to do too,
especially as other unit flags were $100 or even less.
My 1st German flag, a RKF was $20 at a 1970 Gun Show.
