All original for me. Looks like a attic find or similar has suffered from poor storage exposed to moisture for many years. Value around the $450 - $475 USD ball park. Johnno.

I do not think so , this is only used for ground finds.
Also you would need to disassemble the helmet which would make it no longer untouched. Keep it as is.
