Not a 57 variant. It‘s simply a postwar made S&L imperial cross. The pin & hardware used on the cross, gives it away as a later piece.
Still looking nice though thumbsup

I believe the reason that many of the Austrian vets preferred the blank core is due to the reason that they probably were more available locally instead of the German produced...

Like I already replied, the oaks you have shown are later (mid 1960’s+) made Souval „semi-hollow“ type oaks. By no means the early version.
