Default Lignose 25 Cal. Is This Rare?

I just got this from my ex-father-in-law along with some other things. He told me it was "liberated" from a German officer. Were these used as side arms or was this just a backup pistol, and are these fairly rare pistols? Its in excellent condition and has the original holster.

These were common bringbacks. Value is about $150-$200, or right about there.

I wouldn't say it's a rare gun. Somewhat scarce in nice condition but not rare. Gene's estimate is fair.

In response to your question, I would not consider a .25 cal to be an officer's "sidearm". This would be a backup pistol.

Guys,
Awhile ago I had asked about this gun and got some good responces. Now I`ve got another question. Since I last posted this , my father-in -law passed away. In going through his things we refound this release document. Would this add to the value of the gun and if so, what would be a fair asking price?
Thanks

Now yer talkin'. Capture papers could double the value, provided it hasn't been monkeyed with by adding items to it. Nice!

I see these things at gunshows all the time, not as nice as yours though. Although it is none of my business and it is your pistol, you should keep it in the family if possible, but if you do want to sell it, good luck, there are many buyers out there for these.

Thanks for all the added info. Josh, It is a nice piece and in very good condition. I also have the original bullets that were in the clip plus an extra box that was " liberated" from the officer.I wish I could have gotten the SS and SA daggers that he gave away several years ago though.

Wow, with the box and all the stuff with it, it isnt just a run of the mill pistol anymore, I think with all the stuff you have you should have no problem selling it.
